A Rim Wide Enough for the Whiskers
The cat eats from a flared bowl set a few centimetres above the floor. It no longer has to duck its head or fold its whiskers against the sides.

Why the flare matters
A cat’s whiskers are richly innervated. In a straight, deep bowl they brush the wall at every mouthful. A flared bowl simply removes that contact: the diameter at muzzle height is wider than the whiskers’ span. It is a matter of geometry, nothing more, and it is enough to make some cats eat more calmly.
What the stand does to posture
A bowl set on the floor makes the cat bend its neck downwards. A few centimetres of height bring the head back in line with the body. The stand also acts as a catcher: kibble pushed out of the bowl stays on the collar instead of ending up on the tiles.
